It only does it at he the logon screen and no where else and it stops when I hit the delete key. All the virus scans came back clean. Form the issue description it seems that there is a technical issue with the keyboard. You can contact the nearby computer technician and get the keyboard checked. You may also borrow the keyboard from someone you know to confirm whether the issue is related to Keyboard or Windows.
The keyboard connection point is the old pin connection not a USB. I had a similar problem after Boxing Day when I believe I changed the batteries on my wireless keyboard. I did not notice the problem until the next day when I tried to logon. I had looked at possible spyware or virus infection and even considered damage by my Cat who is constantly chewing cables and wires, and because of the teeth marks on the transceiver device.
I tried my work laptop again after reading the suggestion to try it with a different computer and this time the problem occurred on the laptop.
As a result, I took the keyboard apart after some difficulty and put it back together and the problem has gone away. This thread is locked.
