Windows 7 change workgroup
Click on the Start button in the bottom left, then right-click on Computer » Properties. On the new window, look for the section labeled Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings and click on the Change Settings button to the right.
Allow or grant permission if prompted, then on the new window click Change. Click OK and if prompted, restart the computer to complete the change. In the Properties window, under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, see the name of your workgroup. Ensure the name of the workgroup or domain is different from the name of any computer on the network.
In Windows 7, workgroups are small networks that share files, printers and Internet connections. After the other computers in your network join the workgroup, their users can share these resources without having to manually set up sharing, permissions and printers.
To see the workgroup name, just click a Computer icon in the Network window. The bottom portion of the window displays the workgroup name. To see the workgroups, you organize the window to display Computer icons in workgroup categories.
